    If you’re a guy, then you probably wouldn’t mind a little more muscle on your frame. Having more muscle not only makes you aesthetically more attractive, it also makes you functionally stronger. If you want to build some muscle, it-s not going to happen by going to the gym and mindlessly performing exercises on any machine that happens to be available. It takes the right strategy and an organized plan. Here is a list of five tips you could follow that will get you started on the right track.

    1.Stick to compound movements. These include exercises like squats, bench presses and pull ups. These exercises work multiple muscles at once and are better for overall body development.

    2.Take every set to failure. A lot of lifters stop about a rep or two before they hit failure. This is because they give in to the pain. Taking each set to absolute failure will send the signal to your muscles that it needs to grow in order to accommodate the increasing workload.

    3.Be sure to get enough rest in between workouts. More is not better. Your muscle needs adequate recovery time. This is especially true if you follow step 2.

    4.Eat a healthy diet. This should consist of clean foods like lean meat and vegetables. Be sure to get enough protein and quality carbs.

    5.You can also use supplements if you need the extra boost. Some popular supplements include whey protein, creatine and weight gainers.

    Following these steps will ensure optimum muscle gain.
